Are Quick Fix Synthetic Urine Reviews Accurate? Does Quick Fix Work For A Lab Test?

10 years ago I passed a drug test using Quick Fix, but are Quick Fix synthetic urine reviews accurate now?

Can Quick Fix pass a drug test in the modern age? Is it complex enough, and will it fool experienced people and digital machinery?

In this full Quick Fix review I’m going to tell you everything you need to know in the next five minutes. I’ll tell you exactly what’s in Quick Fix, and give you full instructions for using it.

I’ll tell you about its problems, and then compare it to the premium synthetic brand on the market:

  • Clear Choice Quick Luck Synthetic Urine

What Is Quick Fix 6.3?

Quick Fix has been around for 20 years, and has a good reputation for passing drug tests.

It’s made by company called Spectrum Labs. They make two versions of Quick Fix. A standard 2 fluid ounce kit, and a larger 3 fluid ounce kit.

The larger synthetic urine kit is called “Quick Fix plus”. But don’t be fooled by the word plus. It doesn’t mean it’s enhanced quality urine, it just means there’s more of it.

Although it’s had a good reputation, it is a very basic formula, and for me, and anecdotally from some lab technicians, it’s not that convincing visually either.

You’ll also notice that most of the positive reviews are older reviews, and that the positive reviews tail off the closer you get to the current day.

What Do You Get & Quick Fix Composition

The Quick Fix kit is not that impressive when you buy it. This is what you’ll get when you open the box:

  • Vial of premixed urine
  • Heatpad
  • Instruction leaflet
  • Elastic band

Yes, you get an elastic band with it. This is to attach the heatpad to the vial of urine. You don’t even get a self-adhesive heatpad which would make the whole process simpler, and safer when you have to conceal it on you.

So right away you can see how cheap and budget this synthetic urine product is. But what really matters is the quality of the heatpad, and the quality of the premixed urine. So how do they stack up?

Let’s talk about heatpad first. In order to submit a viable sample, it has to be submitted within human urine temperature range, which legally is any sample that is between 90°F and 100°F when measured within two minutes after you have peed into the cup.

The problem with heatpads they don’t kick out a steady heat, and getting them to kick it out consistently within such a narrow temperature range is difficult. Often, they will kick out too fast as well, meaning it cools before you can submit it.

The heatpad with Quick Fix is cheap and nasty. It can work, but you’d better have a plan B on arrival.

Now onto the composition of Quick Fix, because you can’t answer the question around does Quick Fix work unless you understand the composition:

  • Balanced for pH and specific gravity
  • Contains the right amount of creatinine
  • Contains the right amount of urea and uric acid
  • Looks like urine

Quick Fix covers the real basics that could be looked for during what is known as validity checks. This is where the sample is dipstick tested to analyze it for certain characteristics, which are usually as follows:

  • Creatine
  • Ph and specific gravity
  • Adulterants (nitrates)
  • A couple of other characteristics

So validity checks aren’t that in-depth, and they certainly don’t analyze the entire samples composition. But if they look for anything other than those absolute basics in Quick Fix, then you are screwed. There is simply no margin for error in this simple composition.

Also, it only “sort of” looks like urine. A few years back I read a blog post by an ex-lab technician who was speaking about fake samples proliferating.

That technician said specifically that they could spot Quick Fix if they were suspicious by holding it up to the light. Now obviously, that’s not going to be done with all samples, and the completely digitalized and remotely completed eCup system won’t actually have a human looking at the sample, but it’s still a huge risk.

Quick Fix Instructions

The instructions for using Quick Fix are pretty straightforward, but you have to obviously deal with the maintenance of the heat until you submit the sample.

Here are the Quick Fix instructions you need:

1. Because it’s premixed there’s no hydrating of the urine. All you have to do is worry about heating it up to get it within that magical temperature range of between 90°F and 100°F.

2. To achieve getting the temperature right, your first activate the heatpad, and check the temperature strip. It shouldn’t really be giving a reading unless you are in a hot environment, in which case you won’t need to warm the sample (and should be wary of keeping in sunlight where it could exceed human urine temperature).

3. Then, you’ll probably need to microwave the sample to bring up the heat. Do this in 10 second bursts, shake it gently, and watch the temperature strip for 30 seconds before repeating.

4. Attach the heat sticky pad to the warmed sample. Don’t use the elastic band, it’s ridiculous. Instead, use tape so you get it attach securely and then it won’t separate while concealed, or even more crucially, when you are attempting to deal with the sample under pressure when you submit it.

5. Finally, it’s just a case of concealing it on your person. This will be an unsupervised drug test, so you won’t be directly observed, and you won’t be intimately searched. Tuck it into your underwear, right in your crotch area, and then put on baggy trousers or jogging bottoms to further conceal it.

6. On arrival, just before you go into the building, make sure you check the temperature again. If it’s too cool again, because of heatpad issues, then you’ll have to warm it up. A flask of hot but not boiling water is good for doing this, but it’s something else to worry about and you’ll have to get rid of the flask

Does Quick Fix Work?

The million dollar question is does Quick Fix work?

Well, the answer is yes and no. Yes, technically it can still work. It has the basics in place to get through a modern drug test as long as there’s no additional scrutiny on the sample you submit.

However, if the validity checks look for anything other than the pure basics I’ve mentioned, then they won’t find it because Quick Fix doesn’t contain those chemicals.

It also doesn’t look much like urine, especially when held up to the light. So somebody curious could spot it as well. Plus, it certainly doesn’t froth like urine (there’s no albumin in it) and it doesn’t smell like it either.

You’ve also got the problem of the heatpad. It can fail. Unless you’ve got the countermeasure in place of a hot water source, then you’ve got no way out of this, which is where most people fail using synthetic urine.

Overall, for me, Quick Fix is a really budget and outdated brand. Costing just $30, it’s about 1/3 of the price of the market leader, but you get what you pay for and I urge you to look at it this way.

Does Quick Fix Expire?

One general question about synthetic urine is people ask if it spoils or expires.

.In terms of spoiling, then yes it does. You should only open it and use it when you are preparing it to take with you. Do not open it in any way and then keep it for more than an hour or so before beginning to prep to use it.

In terms of expiry, synthetic urine should come with a good year or two of shelf life. If it comes with six months or less, then you’ve got very old stock and you should be getting a refund.

So Are Quick Fix Reviews Fake?

People will wonder if Quick Fix reviews are fake because they say that it’s a very good synthetic urine for passing a drug test with.

It’s actually a very basic quality urine, but it doesn’t mean the reviews are fake, or that it’s a scam. It’s just a very cheap and basic brand that could get you through a drug test as long as you get a bit lucky with what they look for.

You also have to bear in mind that it’s been around for nearly 20 years, and a lot of the reviews and ratings levels are from older reviews. The more you look at Quick Fix reviews in isolation, the more you will see that its success rate has declined dramatically in the past few years.

Here’s The Composition That Good Synthetic Urine Needs

Right now, if you want to pass a modern drug test, then the synthetic urine will have to have the following minimum composition:

  • Must look, froth, and smell like urine
  • Be within the correct specific gravity and pH ranges
  • Contain the right amount of creatinine
  • Contain right amount of urea and uric acid
  • Preferably contain a couple of other common chemicals that might be looked for
  • Shouldn’t rely on a heatpad or temperature maintenance

As you can see, that’s a slightly higher requirement less than Quick Fix can achieve. But it’s not that ridiculous to assume that products can reach that level.

However, you might be surprised not the only two synthetic urine products on the market right now actually achieve those levels, let alone exceed them.

You Can’t Rely On A Heat Pad To Maintain The Temperature

The biggest reason why brands like Quick Fix fail is because of the heatpad issue. People just slap the pad on and go and submit the sample. Then they fail at the first hurdle by submitting a sample that couldn’t possibly have come from the human body.

There are two synthetic urine products out there that don’t rely on heatpads. Again, you might find this surprising, but that’s the truth.

They both use something called heat activator powder. It works by agitating the liquid to raise the temperature slightly when you add more and shake it.

The activator powder dissolves and is untraceable during a drug test, so it’s completely safe to use.

What this does is give you complete control over the sample temperature, which means you don’t have to mess around with the additional preparation steps before you even arrive at the venue.

The Best Synthetic Urine In 2024: Quick Luck

For my first drug test using synthetic urine, I used a product called Sub Solution. It’s made by Clear Choice, and it was the best on the market.

It was complex, used heat activator powder, and looked, frothed, and smelled like urine as well.

The only problem with Sub Solution is that it’s a powder. You have to hydrate it by mixing it with filtered water.

To address this limitation, Clear Choice created a newer version called Quick Luck synthetic urine. It’s of the same quality generally, but ever so slightly more complex, and premixed.

These are the characteristics that Quick Luck has for passing a drug test:

  • Looks, froths, and smells like human urine
  • Perfectly balanced for pH and specific gravity ranges
  • Contains the right proportion of creatinine
  • Contains right proportions of urea and uric acid
  • Contains 14 common chemicals found in urine
  • Uses heat activator powder for temperature control

As you can see, that far surpasses Quick Fix, and what I would call the minimum characteristics needed to pass a modern drug test by significant distance.

Note that you’ve got 14 chemicals found in urine in this. So Quick Luck will pass even the highest scrutiny validity checks.

It also looks, froths, smells like urine. That curious lab technician is not going to look any further into your sample.

Plus, as I’ve already explained, it doesn’t rely on a heatpad, and the genius of the heat activator powder is something you will experience and come to love.

Quick Luck Instructions

Instructions for using Quick Luck very straightforward because it’s premixed, so you won’t even need to hydrate it as the first step.

These are the Quick Luck instructions:

  1. Because there’s no heat preparation, first thing you have to worry about is concealment. Tuck the sample into your underwear in your crotch area, and put on baggy jogging bottoms. Because there’s no heatpad bulking things up, it’s even more discreet.
  • On arrival at the venue, before you go into the building, it’s time to use the heat activator powder. This only takes a couple of minutes somewhere out of sight.
  • First, check the temperature strip to make sure there’s not already a reading. They shouldn’t be unless you are somewhere very warm.
  • Tap in about one quarter of the heat activator powder. Shake the sample gently until it’s fully dissolved. Then watch the temperature strip for about 30 seconds.
  • If there’s no reading on the temperature strip, tap in a little more of the heat activator powder and repeat step four. Do this again if necessary until you get a good reading on the temperature strip that is close to 100°F, but not above that.
  • Then, simply conceal the sample on you as I’ve already explained, then casually go inside and submit it. If you can find somewhere to hide heat activator powder on your person as well, then take that in with you just in case you are delayed. As it will be an unsupervised test, even when you are submitting the sample, you can check the temperature and use the heat activator powder again should you need to.

Where To Buy Quick Luck

As you can see, Quick Fix synthetic urine reviews aren’t fakes or scams, they are mostly just outdated or working on the theory that you will only face the bare minimum of scrutiny of your sample.

I really wouldn’t recommend you use it, unless you don’t care about the test, there’s nothing else available, you can’t afford to level up to Quick Luck.

Quick Luck blows all other synthetic urine out of the water by giving you the biggest guarantees possible that you will pass the drug test.

The combination of the complexity, its physical closeness to real urine, and the heat activator powder, is an unbeatable mix that gives you around 95% chance of passing that important drug test.

Quick Luck costs $100. Compare that to the $30 for Quick Fix, and you can see it’s far more expensive.

But you get what you pay for, and what’s the point in saving money if you fail the drug test? Quick Luck is only available to buy direct from Clear Choice, through their webstore at test negative.

Don’t buy anywhere else, because it will be a fake. Fakes do exist because of the cost of the product, so it’s best to buy direct to guarantee that you are getting the real synthetic urine.
